Turkmenistan celebrated World Ranger Day
5 On August 6, an event dedicated to World Ranger Day, which is celebrated annually on July 31, was held in the assembly hall of the Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. This holiday is dedicated to the courageous men and women who have committed their lives to protecting the planet’s most vulnerable natural and cultural treasures. The day serves as a powerful reminder of the vital role that park and reserve rangers play in global conservation efforts, as well as the frequently overlooked dangers they face in the line of duty.

To celebrate World Ranger Day in Turkmenistan, boost inspector morale, and raise public awareness of environmental conservation, a joint campaign was organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the organization Conservation X Labs. Specially recognized inspectors from each state nature reserve and regional Environmental Protection Departments were invited to the event. During the meeting, participants shared their experiences in managing and safeguarding strictly protected natural areas. Additionally, the results of biodiversity conservation work utilizing camera traps and other modern field tools were presented. At the conclusion of the event, the most outstanding inspectors from each reserve and regional department were honored with valuable gifts and certificates.
